Kate Williamson
Kate's National Bonspiel painting has been selected into the top ten works in an international Saatchi online art competition.
Out of thousands of international entries 300 submissions were selected by the professional Saatchi Online team combined with an active community vote.
A jury, selected by Saatchi Online and led by Rebecca Wilson, Director of the Saatchi Gallery, London, then reviewed the 300 semi-finalists. Of those 300 submissions
30 were selected by a professional jury to move on to the final round
Out of those 30 the top ten winners were selected by internationally acclaimed artist Ged Quinn. Kate's work was recognised as one of the top ten.

Kate's work is described as intuitive, spontaneous action-painting. Painted with a full rush of energy, (see the "making of" on the videos page).
each work captures the organic aesthetic by being highly expressive with a textured luminosity. While Kate pushes her art practice in exciting new areas, all her works fit into ongoing collections (see the video slide shows of collections).

Artist's Quote:
"Paint for me is a living entity, flowing, fluid, fleeting and fragile. I want the paint to breathe the life-energy of nature onto the canvas. I also strive to create truly one off original art works which are only finished once my eye wants to explore the surface".

Kate was born in Christchurch New Zealand and currently lives in Dunedin N.Z. Kate's contemporary works are collected nationally and internationally. Kate is represented by Bryce Gallery, Christchurch, New Zealand. Also represented by Saatchi online.
